Step 6.I horse integration.
Des is a total weapon when it comes to horse politics. He doesn’t know who is a mare and who is a gelding. He doesn’t know how to groom other horses, and being the bottom of the pile himself he has a tendency to pick on the weak or mild hearted.
This has been a long process to put him out with the babies and I’m going to have to monitor half hourly for the rest of my life probably. Thankfully, we live in a nice place. #dartmoor #iberian #rockymountain #softandsound #lusitano

In addition to the horses (very helpful), the dogs

In addition to the horses (very helpful), the dogs (sometimes helpful) are Graham and Bruce, the cats (never helpful). I am hopelessly obsessed with them and spend a lot of time schooshing them up and kissing them, delighting at what they’re doing (nothing really) and marvelling at their ability to do nothing in such a shameless and indulgent fashion.
My friend @sarah_hobbs_illustrates has drawn them! And is going to get cards made!!!! I am besides myself...

This week, after several years of pondering, Karen

This week, after several years of pondering, Karen Musson and I are launching our course, ‘Refining Feel in the French Tradition’.

Many of us want to school our horse to be sound, safe, and functional, as well as graceful, beautiful, strong and supple. But we often get stumped as how we do this through a feeling of good connection - rather than force or pressure?

It can appear that having ‘good feel’ is something that’s only available to a few gifted horse people - but it’s not true! We all have the capacity within us and horses are hard wired to connect, so it’s something any of us can tap into. By combining this with the principles of French classical schooling, we can create something quite extraordinary!

This time the course is only available to members of the Soft and Sound membership community, but next time we’ll open the doors to all!
