A Day on the Moor with Andrea and Kate
Join Andrea Wady and Kate Sandel for a day on the moor observing several bands of Dartmoor ponies.
Dartmoor is a very special place, ancient, harshly beautiful, infused with myth, folklore and history and it is also home to one of our very special ancient native breeds, the Dartmoor pony.
This day will be a unique opportunity to spend time watching more these naturalised bands of horses, as they interact with each other, the land, and the elements - without constant input of humans. Spending time observing these beautiful ponies is highly educational, as well as enjoyable. They can tell us a lot about themselves, and how they are such incredible survivors. How they learn, how they bond, how they move and how they stay safe. Harmony and contrast; synchronicity and difference. We can, if we choose, take these insights back to our own horses and ponies and provide them with a more useful version of ourselves…
Andrea and Kate are both passionate horsewomen, who have dedicated their lives to understanding these incredible creatures better. They both love to share this with any who cares to know! This will be a very special day, with only 12 spaces available to visit and observe a number of herds.
£120 per person for the day, including lunch. In support of the Dartmoor Heritage Pont Trust.
